Environmentalists and Duke Energy have agreed to stay two pending Clean Water Act (CWA) citizen suits aiming to force cleanups of coal ash leaks from the firm's impoundments in North Carolina until a state court rules in separate litigation related to the leaks, and the two cases could be moot if a state judge orders the facilities' closure.
