EPA Guides Outline Proper Data Use For CERCLA Lead Assessments

EPA has quietly released a trio of guidance documents on how and whether Superfund lead risk assessments should incorporate various data, including short-term exposure scenarios, updated variables relating to blood lead levels in adults and maternal blood lead levels at childbirth, and data from public health monitoring. The three guidance documents, now posted on EPA's website, are all dated Aug. 2, and were signed by Dana Stalcup, director of the Superfund office's assessment and remediation division.
