EPA Pesticide Official Maintains Treated Seeds Have FIFRA Exemptions

An EPA pesticides manager is maintaining that crop seeds treated with pesticides "have certain exemptions" from the federal statute that governs the manufacture, sale and use of pesticides in the United States, although environmentalists have denounced the exemptions as contributing to pollinator loss and questioned the reasoning for the exemptions.
