Court Orders EPA To Develop Expedited Schedule For CERCLA Finance Rules

A federal appellate court has ordered EPA to update its schedule for issuing Superfund financial assurance rules for the hardrock mining industry, saying the agency should expedite the rules “to the greatest possible extent,” after Congress required the agency more than 30 years ago to identify classes of facilities needing such rules.
