EPA Pressured To Examine DuPont Spinoff's RCRA Financial Assurances

Environmental groups are pressuring EPA to examine whether a new company that was once part of DuPont meets financial assurance requirements under the Resource Conservation & Recovery Act (RCRA) for legacy contamination from perfluorochemical (PFC) manufacturing at a West Virginia plant. The groups have also questioned the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over the validity of financial records Dupont has filed for the new company, Chemours, on its environmental liabilities.
