EPA Reaffirms Plan For Off-Site Disposal Of Housatonic River Sediment

EPA has issued a final cleanup remedy decision for a 125-mile stretch of the Housatonic River, a large contaminated sediment site in Massachusetts, that reaffirms the agency's plan to dispose of excavated polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB)-contaminated sediment off-site despite opposition from potentially responsible party General Electric (GE).
