DOE kick-starts process for states to update building codes

The Energy Department (DOE) is kick-starting a years-long process for states to update their building codes for commercial and residential structures, releasing formal determinations that a pair of model codes are an improvement over prior versions regarding energy efficiency and carbon emissions cuts.
