Efficiency groups urge DOE to speed new standards

Energy efficiency advocates are increasingly expressing frustration at the pace of efficiency standards rulemaking by the Department of Energy (DOE), noting that a handful of measures to undo Trump-era rollbacks remain pending despite the department’s prior deadline to complete those policies by the end of last year. The agency finalized measures to reverse eight of the 13 Trump-era rollbacks it hoped to finish in 2021.
