Environmentalists push to preserve EV funding in reconciliation

Environmentalists are pushing a baseline funding level for electric vehicles (EVs) in an upcoming Democratic infrastructure package in response to reports that lawmakers in separate bipartisan infrastructure talks have been looking to divert a far smaller EV funding plan to other vehicle types. The group Evergreen Action in a July 26 memo being circulated on Capitol Hill calls for “at least $159 billion” toward production and adoption of EVs.
