Building On Phasedown, EPA Plans To Slash ‘Byproduct’ HFC-23 Releases

EPA is proposing to virtually eliminate releases of the climate-warming coolant known as HFC-23 produced as a byproduct of making other refrigerants, part of a much larger push to sharply phase down production of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) following a congressional directive last year.
