EPA Launches ‘Targeted,’ Two-Step Process To Cut Truck Emissions

Driven by President Joe Biden’s executive order on vehicle emissions, EPA is launching a “targeted” two-step process to cut emissions from heavy-duty trucks, with a first phase that will impose tougher nitrogen oxides (NOx) limits for all trucks while tightening greenhouse gas standards for select segments, to be followed by more “robust” GHG reductions later for all trucks.
