Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm is offering assurances to House appropriators that her department’s upcoming efficiency standards for gas stove cooktops will not derail their use, while offering additional pushback against an oft-cited statistic by industry officials that the rule would disallow nearly all units on the market.
