SEC Boosts Enforcement Of Existing Climate Guide As Major Rule Looms

The Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) appears to be bolstering its enforcement of current requirements for public companies to disclose climate change-related risks, even as officials move forward with a proposed rule that would impose even more prescriptive disclosure mandates on climate issues. According to the SEC’s website, the agency has sent letters to two dozen major companies since September -- including Comcast, Honda, Starbucks, and Target -- asking them to provide additional information about their exposure to climate-related risks,...
