Senate Panel Unanimously Approves USDA Carbon Certification Legislation

The Senate agriculture committee has unanimously approved a bill establishing a Department of Agriculture (USDA) program for certifying carbon credits to encourage farmers and foresters to participate in voluntary emissions trading markets after senators revised the bill to protect existing programs and ensure markets are designed to benefit producers and landowners.
