U.S. GHG Emissions Tick Up In 2022, Even As Renewables Surpass Coal

U.S. greenhouse gas emissions increased slightly in 2022 even as the economy grew at a faster rate, according to researchers who argue the trend shows federal officials must speed implementation of last year’s climate legislation and propose further aggressive policies to get back on track to achieving the country’s Paris Agreement climate goals.
