Council adds brownfields, mining projects to fast-track permitting process

The Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council (FPISC), an inter-agency body created to streamline environmental review and permitting, has added hardrock mining and land revitalization projects, including brownfields cleanup and redevelopment sites, to the list of sectors that are automatically eligible for its fast-track process.
