Court rejects Texas haze plan deadline extension

A federal district court has rejected an effort by EPA and Texas to extend by 15 months -- from Sept. 9 until Dec. 31 2018 -- a deadline for the agency to either impose a federal plan directly regulating regional haze in Texas, or approve a Texas plan to do the same, winning praise from environmentalists opposed to the delay.
