EPA extends comment period for ‘worst case’ spill rule

At the urging of energy, chemical and mining industry groups, EPA is extending by 60 days the public comment period for responding to its proposed Clean Water Act (CWA) “worst case” chemical spill rule, as environmentalists signal they plan to push the agency to toughen its proposed requirements.
