EPA skirts perchlorate rule deadline

EPA appears to have skirted, for now, a looming court-ordered deadline to publish a proposed drinking water standard for the rocket fuel ingredient perchlorate as the agency's recent request for the federal court to extend the Oct. 31 deadline by 6 months results in an automatic three-month extension or until the judge rules.
