EPA withdraws uranium mining groundwater rule

The Trump EPA has formally withdrawn an Obama-era proposed groundwater protection rule for uranium in-situ recovery (ISR) mining -- a measure that long faced significant opposition from congressional Republicans, industry and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
