House panel leaves EPA out of water resources bill

A House committee has approved an Army Corps of Engineers funding bill that is narrower than the Senate version, precluding language adopted by the upper chamber that seeks to overhaul EPA's water infrastructure programs while also rejecting an attempt to create a new grant program to address mercury contamination in Lake Superior.
