Judge rejects challenge to Maryland impaired waters list

A federal district court judge has rejected environmentalists’ challenge to EPA’s approval of Maryland’s 2018 Clean Water Act (CWA) list of impaired waters, finding the state and EPA acted within their authority when they reclassified dozens of waterbody segments to reflect that they are covered by the EPA-developed Chesapeake Bay cleanup plan.
