Navy in talks to settle CWA suit seeking permits for munition releases

The Navy is in settlement talks with environmentalist plaintiffs in a Clean Water Act (CWA) citizen suit seeking discharge permits over releases of spent ammunition and other equipment from munitions tests at a Virginia support facility, according to new filings in the case. “The Parties intend to continue settlement discussions to attempt to resolve this matter without the need for unnecessary litigation,” reads an Aug. 16 filing in Potomac Riverkeeper Inc., et al., v.
