Proposed EPA lead and copper rule draws mixed reaction

EPA’s proposal to revamp its Safe Drinking Water Act lead and copper rule (LCR) is drawing mixed reaction, with Republicans and some in the water sector praising the rule as an important step forward, while Democrats and environmentalists charge the rule will do little to reduce lead exposures and may even increase them.
