Sen. Whitehouse seeks to block Pruitt's speech at GOP fundraiser

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) is seeking to block EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt from speaking at a GOP fundraiser in Oklahoma next month, charging that an invitation to the event suggests his attendance could violate the federal law that bars government employees from lobbying. An EPA spokeswoman suggested that Pruitt would attend the event but acknowledged that the invitation announcing the speech violates federal rules and the agency is seeking to correct it.
