Senate adds short-term CFATS extension to emergency aid package

The Senate has included in the $2 trillion coronavirus emergency relief package a three-month extension to the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) chemical facility safety program, which is slated to expire April 18, ensuring lawmakers will soon have to debate the program’s future given Trump administration plans to end it.
