The Senate environment panel has scheduled a Jan. 16 hearing to consider Acting EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler's nomination to head the agency permanently, giving Democrats on the panel a prominent event to query the nominee on a host of Trump administration deregulatory actions that they oppose.
