California Bill Banning PFAS In Firefighting Foam Heads To Governor

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is expected to sign recently approved legislation barring firefighting foam from containing per- and polyfluroalkyl substances (PFAS) beginning in 2022 after easily clearing the state legislature. The Senate voted 39-0 Aug. 30 to approve SB 1044 by Sen. Ben Allen (D-Santa Monica), with one lawmaker not voting.
