Citing State Failures, OIG Seeks Tighter EPA Oversight Of ‘Minor Sources’

A new report from EPA’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) says the agency failed to ensure that Texas and California air regulators properly controlled emissions from certain “synthetic minor” pollution sources -- and even though federal officials agreed with that finding they are at odds with the watchdog on how to strengthen the program.
