DOD Outlines Process For Addressing Releases Of Fluorine-Free Foam

The Defense Department (DOD) has released guidance for use of PFAS-free firefighting foam at its installations, including how authorities should respond to releases of such “fluorine-free foam” (F3), noting that the military is actively transitioning from PFAS-containing foam to F3 -- meaning both are currently in use at its facilities. “This policy provides direction for the management of MILSPEC qualified F3 agents when they are used or released on military installations and National Guard facilities,” the May 17 guidance says...
