EPA, Environmentalists Reach Deadline Deal For Haze SIPs In 33 States

EPA and environmental groups have reached an agreement that requires the agency to take final action approving or denying 33 state implementation plans (SIPs) addressing regional haze by the end of 2026, resolving a lawsuit that charged that the agency had missed statutory deadline to act.
