EPA Floats Tighter TSCA ‘PBT’ Limits While Extending Phase-Out Targets

EPA is proposing to tighten a host of provisions in Trump-era TSCA rules governing a pair of “persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic” (PBT) flame retardants, while also granting lengthy deadline extensions to find substitutes in certain “critical” uses like wire insulation for nuclear power plants and manufacturing equipment.
