EPA Pledges To Propose Updated Landfill Methane Standards In 2025

After longstanding pressure from environmental groups, EPA has announced plans to issue sometime next year a proposed rule that would update methane emissions standards for new and existing municipal solid waste landfills, even as the agency and its allies are fighting litigation from the landfill sector on its greenhouse gas reporting rules.
