EPA Vows To Consider ‘Critical’ Methylene Chloride Uses In TSCA Rule

EPA is seeking to reassure industry that its upcoming TSCA rule for methylene chloride will consider the benefits of “critical” uses of the solvent including its role in manufacturing pharmaceuticals, batteries and substitutes to climate-warming hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), after trade groups charged that it didn’t address those issues in a new risk determination.
