NDAA Seeks To Speed FUDs Cleanups, Creates EV Battery Recycling Program

Defense authorization legislation for fiscal year 2023 that President Joe Biden signed last week includes a series of waste policy provisions, including measures that seek to speed munitions cleanups at formerly used defense sites (FUDs) and create a recycling strategy for electric vehicle (EV) batteries from the federal fleet. Biden signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for FY23 on Dec. 23.
