OIG Launches Broad Probes Of Jackson Water Crisis As EPA Nears Deal

EPA’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) is launching a formal evaluation of the agency’s “response and oversight” of drinking water contamination in Jackson, MS, as well as an audit of how state and local funding and spending decisions impacted the crisis, the latest in a series of OIG inquiries into drinking water contamination issues in environmental justice (EJ) communities.
