OMB Weighs EPA Proposal To Loosen Ban On Unlined Coal Ash Sites

EPA has sent for White House pre-publication review a proposal to allow some disposal sites that lack protective liners to continue operating, which would loosen a separate proposed rule from November in which the agency floated banning unlined ash disposal as unsafe and forcing existing facilities to shut down.
