PFAS Makers Agree To Sweeping MDL Deal With Water Utilities On Trial’s Eve

Four major PFAS manufacturers have reached multi-billion dollar settlements with a a host of municipal governments and water utilities over contamination from their products, just days before the start of a “bellwether” trial in consolidated multidistrict litigation (MDL) that will determine liability for the chemicals. 3M is reportedly set to pay “at least $10 billion,” according to press reports, while DuPont and its spin-off companies Chemours and Corteva have jointly agreed to a $1.185 billion deal, according to their statement...
