Senate Defense Bill Would Create EPA-Coordinated PFAS Research Centers

The Senate leadership’s package of amendments for inclusion in the fiscal year 2025 defense authorization bill includes a measure requiring EPA to create “centers of excellence” aimed at advancing capabilities to detect and destroy PFAS in water sources, but the package lacks provisions to expand PFAS-related procurement restrictions on the military.
