As EPA prepares to spend $3.5 billion from the bipartisan infrastructure law (BIL) on brownfields cleanup and redevelopment, site redevelopers are urging senators to defer EPA oversight of the contaminated sites to state programs, as well as other steps that they say will help speed cleanups.
