Volkswagen (VW) has settled separate lawsuits filed by New Hampshire and Montana over claims that the company installed illegal defeat devices in its diesel passenger vehicles to cheat emissions tests, even as it waits for the Supreme Court to decide whether it will hear the company’s claims that such suits are pre-empted by the Clean Air Act.
