EPA’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) is launching an audit that will seek to assess cumulative impacts faced by disadvantaged communities near a controversial waste site in Alabama, an early test of Biden administration efforts to elevate environmental justice (EJ) by conducting such assessments and using the findings to mitigate adverse impacts.
