House Democrats Seek Tighter Fine Particle Standards Than EPA Staff

A group of 48 House Democrats is calling on EPA to swiftly finalize a tightening of federal standards for fine particulate matter (PM2.5) beyond the stricter limit that agency staff is recommending, and is also calling for a rethink of how EPA considers “exceptional” events like wildfires in its air regulations, in line with science advisers’ views.
