Environmentalists Hail Promising Results On Method To Degrade PFAS

August 19, 2022
Environmentalists are hailing promising results from a Northwestern University study that successfully applied a new method to degrade some types of PFAS in the lab, relying on the novel use of a solvent wash rather than high temperatures. Nonetheless, environmentalists say it will take time to determine if the new method will be able to be applied to degrade and remove per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at scale.
