EPA Sends Final PFAS Reporting Rule To OMB Following Battle On Costs

The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has begun review of EPA’s statutorily-mandated data-gathering rule for PFAS manufacturing and importing, after the agency raised its cost estimate from just $10.8 million to $875 million -- which in turn prompted fresh calls from industry for broad exemptions or de minimis reporting thresholds. EPA has already missed the statutory deadline of Jan. 1, 2023, to promulgate the rule. But OMB’s website says it received the final rule late on...
