EPA Launches NAM Framework For Chemical Eye-Irritation Tests Under TSCA

EPA is adopting a “framework” for identifying eye irritation and corrosion hazards during TSCA new-chemical reviews that relies on new approach methodologies (NAMs) the agency says are “more reproducible and provide results more relevant to humans” than traditional animal tests, advancing a years-long effort to bolster NAM use in the toxics program.
