States Seek To Ban PFAS, Phthalates In Packaging, Sparking Industry Ire

A group of nine states is proposing to update its model legislation governing toxics in packaging to ban the use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and phthalates in packaging materials, opening the door to the limits eventually being adopted in 19 states that have already adopted portions of the model legislation.
