Lacking Disposal Methods, Waste Sector Fears Costs Of PFAS Listing

Underscoring the continued lack of destruction and disposal methods for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), the solid waste industry is warning that EPA’s planned designation of two PFAS as “hazardous substances” under the Superfund law could cost municipal landfills more than $6 billion each year.
