Plastics Recycling Efforts Fall Short Of Needed Policies, Academics Warn

As EPA prepares to release a congressionally mandated strategy for reducing plastic waste, some academics are warning that a recently released state plan falls short of the policy shifts needed to achieve sustainability and are calling for better lifecycle analysis and stepped-up efforts to recycle or repurpose the waste to determine whether reducing the use of virgin materials will decrease pollution.
