Refinery Benzene Levels Trend Down, Boosting Case For Fenceline Monitors

A recent report finding declining benzene levels detected at refineries’ fencelines appears to boost the case for such monitoring as a method to reduce emissions across multiple sectors, with EPA setting such mandates in rules limiting emissions from the organic chemicals, integrated steelmaking and coke ovens sectors.
